We are so very excited to share our passion for wind and water sports with you!
Our goal is to teach you these amazing activities in the safest and funnest way possible. Both kiting and winging are challenging sports, but that doesn't mean you can't learn them. They just take some time, patience, a bit of disposable income...and a little more time. A sure fire way to learn either one of these life changing sports is...to not give up!
It is incredibly satisfying to be able to harness the wind and have one of the best times you can have on the water...Kiteboarding is kind of like wakeboarding, but you're driving the boat at the same time. Wing foiling is kind of like sailing on top of a magic carpet ride (foiling). So we encourage you to ask all the questions and familiarize yourself with the process of learning either one of these amazing sports.
KITEBOARDING
On average learning to kiteboard can take anywhere from 6-20hrs of lessons, depending on one's athleticism, comfort level in/out of the water and of course, wind conditions. At Playa Rasta (Rasta Beach) the conditions are some of the best! We teach at one of the least crowded beaches in La Ventana to help you feel comfortable in the water and get you to an independent level as quickly as possible. Obviusly there are some dangers associated with one of the raddest sports in the world, but our goal is to mitigate the dangers by helping students develop a comfort level when flying the kite as well as prepare you for situations that can challenge your witts and reflexes. We are stoked to start this journey with you, and as you will see, kiteboarding is a sport for a life time, as are the friends you will make along the way.
WING FOILING
The average time it takes to learn to Wing Foil varies tremendously. Although learning to wing is logistically a little more involved than kiteboarding, it is overall significantly safer than it's adrenaline charged counter part (kiteboarding). It is equally as challenging, equally as rewarding and yes...at times, equally very frustrating. This does not mean that anyone can't learn it, become proficient and have their life change forever.
